Haunted Museum 2007Haunted Museum 2007

Over 300 people attended the 4th Annual Haunted Museum event on October 27th, 2007. It could not have been done without the help of so many people: over twenty-nine kind souls gave their time and talent to this project. The members of the Museum Advisory Council of Students (photo right) were tireless in their preparations, meeting every week in October; coming early and leaving late on the day of the event to set up and clean up. They took on the duties that ranged from showing the film Fantasia to keep tour attendees busy while waiting their turn, to leading tours to handing out tickets, to crowd control. Thanks are also due to the docents who either led tours, presented characters or artists in the tours or acted as guards, and the Westminster College students who kept things going on the evening of the event. Local businesses chipped in with candy and fruit snacks for the goody bags and pizza for the volunteers (who could do this on an empty stomach??): Moser’s, Hy-vee Food Store, and Dominos Pizza. We had owls and vultures, thanks to the MU Raptor Rehabilitation Project, Richard Daniel brought snakes, a frog and a tarantula, and Sybill Amelon provided the bats so needed for this holiday. Special mention and thanks should go to the two brave young men who portrayed characters for the tour: Harry Stanton as David after his battle with Goliath, and Joe Fulca, who played a gargoyle.
