Testament of Time: Antiquities from the Holy Land - an Exhibition in Memory of Saul S. Weinberg![]() Seated Male Deity, Reshef Near East Late Bronze Age I-IIB, 1550-1200 B.C.E. Bronze (84.24) Weinberg Fund The Museum of Art and Archaeology’s permanent collection of antiquities from Israel was featured in this exhibition. Acquired through excavation and purchase, the extensive collection spans the Chalcolithic to the early Byzantine periods. Approximately 180 objects were selected for display to highlight themes such as daily life, warfare, religion, trade and cultural exchange, and the technology of pottery production and glass working. Stone, metal, and pottery vases, coins, terracotta sculptures, sealstones and intaglio gems, bronze weapons, lamps, jewelry, weights, glass vessels, and painted stucco illustrated these themes. |
