Osiris Statuette (mummy talisman?)Osiris Statuette (mummy talisman?)

Osiris was the Egyptian god of the dead and ruler of the Underworld. Referred to as the "Lord of Maat" (divine law), he judged the souls of the dead. This statue is an example of Osiris’ human form, in which he is depicted as a mummy. A small talisman such as this was possibly wrapped into the linens of a mummy.
