Booking the Museum for Events

The Museum of Art and Archaeology welcomes the opportunity to make its galleries, artwork and cultural treasures available to groups and individuals who might wish to rent the Museum for special events. The Museum is available for groups as small as five or as large as 100.

The Cast Gallery (image above) on the first floor of the Museum is available for receptions. Guests will enjoy being surrounded by plaster reproductions of classical sculpture while enjoying a catered buffet of beverages and hors d’oeuvres. The Cast Gallery may be rented for a nominal fee of $150 for non-University of Missouri groups and $75 for University of Missouri groups.

The Museum also has available a lecture hall (right) with multi-media equipment for lectures and presentations. This Hall holds up to 116 individuals and is designed in a stepped theatre style with a stage. A stationary podium is located on the stage at the front of the Hall and is equipped with a computer, DVD player, VCR, and remote access to a sound system and digital projector. This room is usually available for reservation after 5 pm and there is no charge for the use of this room.

The use of any space in the Museum requires that a Security Officer be available and in attendance during all events occurring at the Museum. After 5 pm, there is a $15 per hour charge for a Security Officer in addition to any room and/or equipment charges.

During your event, you may make arrangements to have the Museum Galleries (located on the second floor of the Museum) open for your guests to visit. These galleries may also be reserved for private after-hour tours with a docent. Note: Food and beverages are not permitted in these galleries.

Host an event at the Museum of Art and Archaeology and give your guests a unique opportunity to visit the artwork and discover worlds of beauty, creativity and provocative interpretation. It will be an experience they will not soon forget!
