A venetian countess (Valli) betrays her marriage and her country to be with a cynical Austrian soldier (Granger) as Italy battles for the Austro-Hungarian Empire for independence in 1866. A visually stunning film in which Italy is the real star.

Museum Galleries are CLOSED.
The Museum is preparing to move to a new location at the lower east level of Ellis Library in the center of the MU campus.
