Combined issue highlights scholarly research, exhibitions, acquisitions and supporters from 2022–2025

The Museum of Art and Archaeology (MA&A) proudly announces that volumes 56-59 of Muse, the museum's scholarly publication since 1967, have been published.

The MA&A has the distinction of being one of the few academic museums that continues to publish and print a peer-reviewed journal. "Muse" is an important vehicle for established scholars to publish their research and for Mizzou graduate students to publish as they build careers. In addition, complimentary copies are sent to museums, libraries, and depositories around the world as part of the MA&A’s long-time publication exchange program.

This combined four-year issue contains scholarly articles by Katherine Larson, Mattia D'Acri, Stephen Czujko, and Alessandro Grassi, all concerning works and projects relating to the museum's permanent collection.

Also highlighted in this current "Muse" are the exhibitions, acquisitions, and museum activities between 2022 and 2025. Additionally, individuals who have supported the MA&A in numerous ways since 2022 are recognized, including Herakles Guild members, members of the Museum Associates Board and the Museum Advisory Board, docents, and Museum Store volunteers.

Copies of "Muse" are provided as a benefit of membership to all Museum Associates at the Theseus, Perseus, Bellerophon, and Herakles Guild membership levels. "Muse" is also available for purchase at the Museum Store for $10. Back issues of "Muse" are available as well; for more information, email artmuseum@missouri.edu.

The museum extends gratitude to David and Nancy Bedan, long-time supporters of "Muse" and members of Museum Associates, whose generosity has made this and past issues possible.
