This exhibition explores the stories embodied in art created by Black women, as well as the narratives expressed and symbolized in artworks portraying Black women, which have been created by artists of differing races and genders. The stories can be quite complicated, especially when artists explore the complexity of the Black identity as it relates to American culture and the African legacies to be found in the United States.
